Here are the six steps to selling a home in today’s market.

Selling your home can seem like a complicated process, but I can break it down into just six easy steps. Here they are in order:

1. Preparation. Anytime you are selling something, you want it to look great for buyers. Make sure the home is decluttered and cleaned. I work with sellers in advance to prepare their homes for exactly what buyers are looking for.

2. Market the property. We want to expose the home to as many buyers as possible. 

3. Receive offers. When your house looks great and is marketed properly in this market, buyers will submit offers. Most of the time, we’ll get multiple offers for you.

4. Under contract. Once you accept an offer, you’re now under contract with a buyer. The closing process typically takes around 30 days. There are inspections, financing hurdles, and more to cover.

5. Moving. Once the sale is final, it’s time to pack up your home.

6. Closing. This typically occurs at a local attorney’s office. They transfer homeownership from you to the new buyer, money is exchanged, and keys are handed over.
